Adding horticultural charcoal to your potted plants improves drainage, absorbs harmful impurities, keeps water fresh and encourages air circulation. Add a layer to the bottom of your containers to help improve drainage and to help remove chemicals, salts and more. Horticultural charcoal can also be mixed directly into the soil when repotting your plants. It is especially beneficial for plants in containers or terrariums that do not have drainage holes.
